Community Clinic Hosted by: Cheers Wine & Liquor
Join us every first Sunday of the month for a community clinic at this pet friendly venue. Donate $5 at this location to receive a free gift for your pet!
All dogs must be secure on a leash, and small pets (including cats) should be secure individually in a pet travel carrier or pet stroller. All pets 4 months of age or older, must be in a separate carrier or we will be unable to serve you. Never allow pets to have nose to nose contact, and always keep a safe distance (6 ft) from pets you do not know. If you have a reactive dog, please be sure they have a properly fitting muzzle. Failing to have your dog properly muzzled could result in criminal and/ or civil liability for you. Please ask us at check-in if we have any small pet carriers available for your cat or small puppy, if you need one.
Check in for this clinic will be from 6pm-8pm. This clinic is walk-in, and just like any other walk-in clinic we must stop intake at a certain point to ensure we have enough time to properly check in all clients and their pets, review medical history, determine which products and services clients would like to receive for their pets, examine the pet, provide care to the pet, and be immediately available at least 15 minutes after the pet has received care to ensure the pet does not have an allergic reaction. We are volunteers and must respect the operational hours of any outdoor venue that hosts us. The safety of all people and pets is our number one priority.
Starting in December we will switch to winter hours to accommodate Day Light Savings. Check in will be from 5pm-7pm starting in December.

Due to changes in state and federal law, our spay/ neuter assistance program is temporarily unavailable. Our full-service veterinary partner in Matamoros, Mexico is no longer easily accessible for our organization.
We are open to partnering with any local veterinarian that would be interested in working with our organization for our spay/ neuter assistance program. The veterinary partner would not need to lower or reduce their prices. Our organization covers the bill. We just need a veterinary partner that is willing to allow us to help owned pets.
There are organizations that import veterinarians to the RGV from out of state to come for mass spay/ neuter, but those clinics can end up costing $500 or more per spay/ neuter… and after the veterinarian leaves, there is nobody available to provide on-going care to those animals. We are working on a more permanent and sustainable solution. We are growing our own veterinarians. We currently have two veterinary students that volunteer for our organization that plan to return to the RGV after they finish veterinary school to focus on spay/ neuter. Through donations, our organization can offer our volunteers tuition assistance that is paid directly to their school. We believe this investment will offer a great return that will benefit the animals in our community. If you would like to donate towards this worthy endeavor, please tag your donation under “growing veterinarians.” The stray problem in the RGV is our problem. We cannot continue to sit around and expect that some outside organization will swoop in and fix it. The solution is up to us.
